Ever wonder what happens when you combine a great selection of handcrafted coffee with an ambient atmosphere? The Factory – Cafe with a Soul gives Austin a much-needed place to kick back in one of their swings (Yes, there’s an actual swing) after a hard week and enjoy a nice cup of joe. Who knew it quickly became my go-to spot.
Conveniently located at the intersection of West Anderson Lane and Burnet Road, The Factory gives both Central Austin and the Pflugerville/Round Rock peeps a middle ground to go to. The cafe is beautifully orchestrated with sofas and decors that promoted conversation.
No wifi means guests should talk to each other. You know like real people.
Wendy Lu, owner and coffee enthusiasts, explained to me that she wants to encourage social interaction from all her guests while they’re at The Factory. Her goal is to provide an environment where one can simply relax, hang out with their companions, and enjoy handcrafted drinks. We can sometimes be overwhelmed with social media, and always feels obligated to “update” our social world that we often forget how to enjoy the real world that’s in front of us.
Not to mention there are giant swings and a huge chess board in the middle. “Knight to H3!” It was here that I ran into Alvin and Lindsey. PS. Lindsey made a miraculously come back and won!
Among the array of caffeine inspired drinks, my favorite has to to be the Viva Matcha Latte. Yes, it’s a real thing and you have to try it. It’ll change your life. Seriously it will. It’s a perfect blend of creme, matcha, and wonderful ness all in a hot mug.
There’s also home-made pop tarts and other hor d’oeuvres.
If you’re in the area definitely give this spot a try. As always thank you for dropping by. Drop a comment and let me know what you think.
